Welcome to Batavia Yard! Our staff do their utmost to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. Because there are many other guests besides you, several conditions apply to your visit. As a visitor, you agree to these conditions upon entering the shipyard.
Parking
Cars should be parked in the large car park at Batavia Stad Factory Outlet or in the VOC garage. Parking is not free. When you use the VOC garage, it is important that you take your ticket with you, otherwise you will not be able to get back in.
Coaches and buses can be parked in front of the Mexx Outlet Store. Visitors can be dropped off and picked up again at the entrance to Batavia Yard.
Registration and payment
Groups and individual visitors should register at the cash desk. Visitors must pay for any tickets and extra activities at this point, unless it has been agreed with the reservation department to send you an invoice. We cannot accept €200 and €500 notes.
Visitors are obligated to show their entrance ticket and card or voucher giving the right to a discount on the entrance fee at all times when asked to do so by any official or attendant.
Potential visitors are not entitled to restitution of the entrance fee or any other compensation in the case of loss or theft of their entrance ticket before they have visited Batavia Yard.
Tickets can be purchased at the cash desk using PIN card, chip card, credit card and cash. Batavia Yard also accepts CKV vouchers.
Supervision
Parents and guardians are responsible and liable for the behaviour of their children at all times.
General regulations
Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and ships. Smoking is only allowed in areas where ashtrays are located.
Groups with an average age of 18 or under must always be accompanied by an adult.
Instructions given by personnel must always be followed.
The Batavia has limited access for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams.
The entrance ticket is no longer valid once visitors have left the shipyard. If you wish to return, please have your ticket stamped at the cash desk, after which you can re-enter the yard on the same day.
Photos and video recordings may not be used for commercial purposes unless prior written permission has been given by the communications department.
Liability
Visitors may be refused entry to Batavia Yard if they fail to meet the general terms and conditions for visitors or if they cause any damage.
Batavia Yard is not liable for errors attributable to intentional acts or omissions, faults or negligence of third parties.
Climbing the bowsprit, the rigging and the masts is strictly prohibited, and Batavia Yard will not be held liable if a visitor suffers serious injury as a result of doing so.
If Batavia Yard receives goods or if goods are deposited, stored and/or abandoned in any way whatsoever and by anyone whomsoever, Batavia Yard will never be liable for damages caused to or in connection with the goods in any way whatsoever.
Lost and found
Articles found by visitors can be handed in at the Tolhuis.
Batavia Yard will do all it can to find out who the owner or rightful claimant is of any objects found and will maintain regular contact with the local police to that end.
